About this site
You know the story about the hare and the tortoise, right? Slow and steady wins the race. As much as get rich quick schemes might appeal, realistically the best way to get a hold of your finances is to keep on keeping on. And this site is growin to become full of ideas to save more and make the most of what money you have.
Whilst this site is mostly about money, it’s not the be all and end all. That’s where the ‘happy’ part of this sites name comes in. My tortoise happy journey is about:
- Being generous
- Being healthy
- Consuming less and experiencing more
- Achieving financial independence
So, here’s to not just being happy, but being tortoise happy!
Hi, I’m Sarah! I live with my husband in sunny Staffordshire. I want to get better at handling my money and I want to help you do the same.
My aim is for financial independence. The ability to retire early, pick and choose work that I feel passionate about, not be tied down to a job that I no longer enjoy and have time to give to activities I care about.
I’m not a financial advisor; I want to give you hints, tips, inspiration and motivation to achieve your financial goals but you should be certain that a course of action is right for you before taking it.
Remember: Money is a tool. The more you practice using it in the right way, the better you become with it.
I have this stone tortoise in my garden. Even though we’ve had to glue his head back on(!) he still looks happy 🙂
